We are an independent society affiliated to the National Association of The Arts Society (previously NADFAS) which has over 330 societies and 90,000 members worldwide.  The Arts Society Rickmansworth (previously RDFAS) was founded in September 1975, 7 years after the national society was formed. The society currently has 260 members and sometimes operates a waiting list when our maximum size (governed by our choice of venue) is exceeded.

Our programme of monthly morning illustrated lectures (except for July and August) covers a broad spectrum of arts-related topics, such as painting, sculpture, jewellery,  ceramics, furniture, architecture, garden design, silver, rugs, carpets, tapestries, music and textiles to name but a few! Lectures are given by experienced and highly qualified lecturers accredited by The Arts Society (previously NADFAS) who are all experts in their field. Our Lectures Secretary, Gill Gowing has put together a stimulating and varied programme for 2019/20

During the year we arrange visits to galleries, museums, houses, gardens, opera and ballet as well as special interest study days.

Marian Trim, our Visits Secretary has arranged  an exciting and varied programme of visits for 2019/20

If you would like more information on any of these please contact one of the Committee or
